During
this quarter, to augment your writing, you will read partner books.
Your task:

Choose a partner in the class (easy enough,
right?). |

Together, choose a book to read. Choose a book that both interests and challenges you.
It may be one of the books I have or a book that you choose on your
own. Get approval from me for
any book that has not been approved for the class. |

Work out a reading schedule. You will have most of this quarter to discuss your book, some
time to read in class, and time to work on your Character Web Site. |

You must complete 8 online discussions on the discussion
board. Post a first message
using your book title as the thread and then be sure that you “reply” to
all messages from them on. If
you “Post” again, you will start a new thread, which will confuse me,
and you may not get credit for your discussions.
Remember,”I agree” or “me too” are not good discussion
responses. |

You will use your book for some of your writings
while reading the book. One on
setting, one on characters, one on action and conflicts, and one on themes
and symbols. |

Your final project for your book will be your character
web site. This will be due
one week before the end of the quarter. |
