Unit for Martin Luther King Day and Black History Month

Martin Luther King Day and rest of week:

	Go to Speech and read while listening to the speech.
	In lab, complete online Scavenger Hunt with a partner.

Black History Month:

Students will form Literature Circles of four to five students and choose from the following list of books:

Black Boy, Warriors Don't Cry, The Color of Water, The Fire Next Time and Notes of a Native Son, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Days of Grace, Black Ice, and Eyes on the Prize

Students will have 12 days to read, journal, discuss their books and complete annotated Book Review web sites.
