Q. Do you remember where you were during the World Trade Center Attacks?

 

A. “I was walking through the Middle School Library in Vermillion when I saw it on the television.  I didn’t think that it was real right away.  I thought that it was a video my wife was using for her class.”

 

Q. What was the mood of New York at this time?

 

A. “I think they first thought the plane was off course, until they saw the second one hit.”

 

Q. Did you feel there was a lot of Patriotism?

 

A. “I feel patriotism grew to an all time high.  Everyone came together, and did what they could to help New York.”

 

Q. What was your first thought when it happened?

 

A. “Well like I was saying before, I didn’t think that it was real.  I thought it was a video tape.”

 

Q. Did you agree with the government’s decision to go after Bin Laden?

 

A. “Oh yes, absolutely.”

 

Q. Did you fear the Terrorists?

 

A. “Well I think that everyone feared them a little bit, but I wasn't very afraid.”

 

Q. Were you worried to fly to New York?

 

A. “Yes, it did cross my mind if there were going to be terrorists on the plane.”

 

Q. What went through your mind when you saw Ground Zero?

 

A. “Never being in New York before I was amazed by the size and the destruction that took place.  It really looked like a dump group with twisted metal.”

 

Q. What was your most memorable moment in New York?

 

A. “The thing that I remember most was at the Hard Hat Café.  The workers came in to eat and get water.  I also remember that the first item sent to Ground Zero was a crate of bottled water from Rapid City, South Dakota.”

 

Q. How long were you actually at Ground Zero?

 

A. “I was there for four days.”

 

Q. Do you remember the first bombing of the World Trade Centers?

 

A. “Yes, I believe that is was in 1992.”

 

Q. Do you think the same people did it?

 

A. “Yes, because I think that after the first one they knew that they would have to attack from somewhere else, not the bottom.  They found out that it was stronger then they thought.”

 

Q. Would you go and help out again if you had the chance?

 

A. “Yes absolutely.”

 

Q. Do think they will rebuild the trade centers?

 

A. “Well they won’t rebuild it, but they are going to build trade centers that aren’t as big and a park were the old one stood.”
