In the book the relationship between Paul and Norman is very strong. Most people have a relationship like this with someone in their own life. It could be between you mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, or even your godparents. Mine is my Dad. My dad has taught me many things in my life. He taught me the value of hard work, how to ride a horse, and how to tell if a cow a mastitis.

Everyday after school or before the sun went down him and I would jump into the old brown ford and head out to pasture and check our 300 head of cows and calves. This is how my dad did it, he would “quiz” me, he would sleep while a cow was calving and make me tell him what was going on. So he gave me the binoculars, so I sat and watched, 10 minutes later it would be done with, and I would tell him everything I saw that just went on. Then he would say “ well is the calf up yet?” or “has the calf sucked yet?” after that my dad would go tag the new calf and we’d head back home.

My dad would be easy to find in a large crowd because of this: he wears a black cowboy hat, cowboy boots, wrangler jeans, a wrangler blue jean shirt and a tan western vest…with a “handle-bar” mustache. You could hear him from a mile away, which was easy because you could always hear what he is saying to you. My family always says he could talk to a wall and make it talk back.

My dad is a fun guy to hang out with. He makes it fun to go somewhere that would usually be extremely BORING!!!! He is considered the life of the party. Because he likes to tell those funny stories that you could never forget. At our family reunion everyday, again my dad is the life of the party, he could make everyone laugh, no matter who it is…he could make you laugh so hard you’d cry!

So whether it’s your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, or godparents, your life always has that special someone that can affect you life forever. For me that person is my dad.
