Essay of Place By:
Amanda Sik Most people have a special place they go to or have special meaning in their life. Some peoples special place consists of a room, or maybe even a town. My special place is a little town called South Shore South Dakota.
I grew up in this little village that consists of at the most 200
people. Here is where I started my first years of school, experienced my
first Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and my very first birthday. Here is
also where I made my first friends. This village wasn’t much of
anything; it had a grocery store, a small school that had every grade in
it, from Kindergarten from 12th grade in this grade at the time
there were only 9 students, imagine prom, or homecoming, this past year
there were only 4 girls in the senior class!! And in the elementary there
were at least 15 people in each classroom with two grades combined.
Then it had a gas station, that was it…can you imagine it?
In South Shore I attended grades Kindergarten through 3rd
grade and in the 3rd grade I then moved. I lived in South Shore
for about 8 years. Although I was not born here I moved here shortly
after.
