Amu Djoleto was born in Ghanaian Village in 1929. He is a novelist and poet. THS Kwami and himself have edited from the African Writers Series called West African Prose. Money Galore was his second novel that he wrote. The most recent publication was amid at the Swelling Act. It’s a collection of poems. He attended Accra Academy and St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast before reading English at the University of Ghana. He studied textbook production at Institute of Education, at the University of London. He is the editor of the "Ghana Teacher’s Journal" and once was in charge of Ministry of Education’s developing publishing program in 1960’s as a classroom teacher and education officer. As of right now he is senior official of the Ministry in Accra. He is the author of Strange man from 1967, Money Galore 1975, and Hurricane of Dust 1987. All of them focus on social and economic life. In Strange man he goes threw the life of Mensah in colonial. In Money Galore talks about the corruption at every level of post-independence. In Hurricane of Dust he talks about Ghana under military misrule. Djoleto made an important contribution to Ghana’s literary culture. He has wrote books for young people called, Obodai Sai, Twins in Trouble, and The Frightened Thief.
