I am From… From: The River… I am from the continental drift that swept through the Louisiana Purchase. I am from the sweet smell of fresh water. I am from the herds of different kinds of fish. I am from the reflections of the bright skies and
the moonlight nights. I am from the sweet sensations of excess water
splashing about the riverbanks. I am from never-ending wetness. I am from rocky and sandy river bottoms. I am from the swift waves that trample through
rocks and whatever else crosses my path.

Carisa Mudder I
am from teenage mutan turtles. I
am from cheerios, rice krispies, and coco puffs. I
am from Barbie dolls, gi-joes, transformers, and dollhouses. I
am from summer vacations in California and Florida. I
am from climbing tall apple trees and falling down, almost breaking every bone
in my body. I
am from the sweet smell of laundry detergent from moms laundry. I
am from the color pink. I
am from the purple, blue, and pink stirrup pants. I
am from Barbie Velcro tennis shoes that always weren’t stuck together. I
am from a tomboy that always hung out with little boys. I
am from play dough, paints, and crayons. I
am from parks, swing sets and sandboxes. I
am from the Minnesota Vikings Monday night football games against the
Green Bay Packers. I
am from oranges, string cheese crackers, and lemonade. I
am from a million childhood memories...that will always last forever… |
