#3 I
am from the oceans and streams The
bluffs and mountains. I
am from the erosion that left behind sediment and loess. I
am from transportation For
Lewis & Clark and the many Indian tribes. I
am from the buffalo and deer That
used me for hydration. The
precipitation and the rain dances said by the Indians. From
the collapsing river beds And
the fast current.

I am From… From: The River… I am from the continental drift that swept through the Louisiana Purchase. I am from the sweet smell of fresh water. I am from the herds of different kinds of fish. I am from the reflections of the bright skies and
the moonlight nights. I am from the sweet sensations of excess water
splashing about the riverbanks. I am from never-ending wetness. I am from rocky and sandy river bottoms. I am from the swift waves that trample through
rocks and whatever else crosses my path.
