One person that has been very important, and still is, in my life is my dad, Roger. He has brought me up the best he has been able to and he has disciplined me when it has been needed. He is my idle, and I look up to him. He can be strict sometimes, but usually he isn’t too bad. He is very compulsive when it comes to things being clean. I can’t go a week without helping him wash a car, or clean my room. It is just one of the things unique about him. He enjoys running down by the lake and working outside. He likes to keep our lawn in good shape and do miscellaneous things around the house. There is always something he has for me to help him with, which I don’t always like to do, but it is good father son bonding time, even if I don’t realize it. We have our differences, but what father and son don’t?
He has helped me the most with my sports. Ever since I was really young he taught me to swing a baseball bat and throw the ball. He is always asking me to go to ballpark and “take some grounders” or “hit in the cage”. Even when I don’t feel like doing it he pushes me to go so that I will improve and become better. At the time I may think he’s being annoying, but really he is just trying to help me out in the long run. That’s what I love about him. One of the things he wants for me is to go on to a good college and play baseball so he can come and watch me. That is one thing he loves doing, watching me play. He used to coach my baseball team every year until I got older and the Baseball Association said it’s better if parents don’t coach a team that has their child on it. So he was kind of heart broken when that day came, but he has learned to coach from the crowd. He knows when to yell and when not to. He’s helped me with my other sports too, like football and basketball. He is a pretty helpful person and I’m proud that he is my father.
