Tomorrow is the day. I am Alexander James. I will be going to the land of unknown. We will be going to the west. We have a tough journey infront of us. We don't know what we will run into. We will be leaving our family and friends. We might never see them again, but families our praying that we will return. I have heard many things about the west. Things like 7-foot tall beavers and mounds of undisolved salt. I have also heard that the mountains will be easy to cross. The Rockies are smaller then our mountains. I am hoping the ground will not be very bumpy and rough. We are hoping to become friends with many Indian tribes, bringing presents and weapons for them. I am frightened of things that may lie in the west. I am still very antsy because I want to find new things. I don't know what to expect. The good thing about this trip is that I will be leaving with my dear friend William Clark, and brother John I have finished packing. It didn't take me long to decide what I wanted to take becuase of my few belongings. I better go to my bed and get some sleep becuase tomorrow will be a long LONG journey.
Hello I am back again. The journy has been very long though we are sure we are not even close to the end. We have just found the Missouri River. There are many animals along this river. Many we have seen and some we have not known of. A few of the animals includ squirrels, birds, and lots of bugs. Though we have not seen any we think there could be bears and deers. This river isn't very rapid. It is very calm. We have seen many trees, flowers, and different types of grass. In the water we have found fish and we have seen one turtle. The river is really pritty at night. Everything so far has been just right. Nothing has gone wrong so far. At least not that I know of. Well I am going to leave to finish watching the river again.
