The
Best Duck Hunt Ever
Mike and Joe woke up at five o’clock in the morning to go duck hunting
over in Springfield. They had to
get all of their stuff ready so they could get there before sunrise.
When they got to Springfield they had to stop and pick up their boat so
they could get out to their blind. When
they finally got their boat in the water and got out to their duck blind then
they were ready to start their day of hunting.
At first it was kind of slow there were a few ducks here and there but it
was not very good. It was really
cold so they decided to turn on their heater they had in the blind so they would
stay warm. When it got to be about
8:30 they started seeing ducks everywhere.
They started to blow their duck calls but the ducks didn’t want to come
in close enough for them to get a shot at the ducks.
So after sitting for another hour they were hungry so they started to cook breakfast. While mike started to cook Joe yelled at him there are ducks everywhere. Mike looked up and saw that there were ducks as far as he could see they were heading straight for them. They didn’t want to shoot because they didn’t want to scare them all away so they waited until some of the ducks left and they shot the ducks that were close to them. Then after a few minuets the ducks came back and they couldn’t shoot again because there were so many of them so they waited again until some left and shot the ducks that were close again. They each had their limit of ducks but they didn’t want to leave because they were having so much fun. They decided to stay and see if the geese would come later in the afternoon.
At about 12:30 they heard some geese coming towards them. They started to call them and the geese came and they landed right in their decoys. They stood up fast and the geese started to fly they shot three times each and they both got five geese. After they had gotten all of the ducks and geese that they could get they decided to sit there a little wile longer just to see what would come in later in the day. They stayed there until three o’clock and they had tons of ducks and geese land in their decoys but they couldn’t shoot them because they already had their limit. So they just sat there and watched them until they all finally left. Then they got their boat and put all of their ducks and geese in the boat and started to head back to the dock. They were really happy with the day they had hunting and hoped it would be just as good tomorrow. After they got home they cleaned all of their ducks and geese and cooked some of it for supper. Then they got all of their stuff ready again for tomorrow morning.
