 The Magic Golden Apple Seeds

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a young girl named Silvia. Silvia lived with her dad, mom, and three brothers. They were extremely poor and barely had anything. One day Silvia decided to do something about this being poor issue. She went outside and started digging. She thought if people find gold around the world, then she should be able to also find something as she dug. Pretty soon she came across four golden apple seeds. She ran into the house yelling, “I found golden seeds! I found golden seeds!”

Silvia’s mom responded, “ What? Where’d you get them from?”

“ I found them when I was digging for treasure! They are golden apple seeds. I wonder what they do? They probably do something magical!”

“ You are kidding. Seeds cannot do anything magical. Get rid of those right now and stop talking nonsense. Go to the market with your brothers and get some food.”

“ Mom, you don’t believe me do you. I will grow them and show you they are magic.”

Sylvia went outside and started digging another hole. In the hole, she put the golden apple seeds. She went to the market just as her mom told her to. At the market, Sylvia and her brothers bought a couple apples and a couple oranges. She was thinking the whole time she was at the market about the magic seeds. If the tree grows apples, then she wouldn’t have to spend any money on fruit at the market.

After an hour, Sylvia and her brothers came back home and checked out the tree. It started to come out of the soil but there wasn’t very much tree there. Sylvia decided she would go to sleep and see if it would be grown tomorrow. Sylvia couldn’t get to sleep. She kept thinking about the tree. “What if the tree didn’t grow anything? What if the tree doesn’t grow at all?” All these questions rambled through her head.

The sun shone through her bedroom window and woke her. She got up slowly, but then realized that today was the day the tree was suppose to grow so she pounced out of bed and ran outside. Right before her eyes, the tree had sprouted up and its drooping braches contained hundreds of golden sweet apples.

She ran inside and told her family, “The golden apple seeds really worked! I told you they would. Now we have plenty of apples and can sell them for money!”

Her mother told her, “You were right. They really were magic! We should have listened to you in the first place. Now we have enough apples and money to last us a lifetime!”

The tree went way up into the clouds until it disappeared. This tree would give them everything they needed to survive. Sylvia and her family lived happily ever after thanks to Sylvia’s confidence in the golden apple seeds.
