Dearest
Lucy,
Hello dear, how have you been? I am all right, though I would rather be
at home with you. It is mighty cold down here. I should not be complaining
though, I am one of the few who gets a blanket at night. Last night was
dreadfully long. The North Koreans bombed us all night. It is wild out here
Lucy, people are dying everywhere, but don’t you worry I will come back to
you. It is so crazy. I have made a few friends here. They keep me company. I met
the guy named Joe. We have become very close. Last night he was shot. He is
still alive but in bad shape. I miss your yummy chicken noodle soup. I think
about how hot it is when it starts to get very cold. I hope things in the United
States are okay still. I really cannot wait to come home and be with you and
little Johnny. How is he doing? Is he staying out of trouble? I hope so. I
really miss you guys. I will be home soon. I count down the days.
Always
yours,
Charles
