Review

I enjoyed reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull in class. I normally wouldn’t have chose to read something of this type but having it as an assignment was good I thought. What I liked about the book was how it gave so many life lessons. Richard Bach does a good job of giving his lessons through ways of symbolism. Part of the reason I enjoyed the book so much was probably because I related a lot to what Bach’s views of life are. It was kind of hard to relate personally to the book though because the characters were all seagulls. I thought some parts were hard to follow because it got hard to concentrate just on a seagull’s life while reading it. I found it easy at times to daze off without realizing it. But overall I thought it was a good book to read. What I like about these reading classes is the assignments we have to do over books and such. It allows you to read things you wouldn’t read on your own but to experience what they have to offer.
