Wilson Lanning was born on April 23, 1889, to his parents Edward and Regina (Jackson) Lanning in Lakeview, South Dakota. When he was at the age of 16, his family moved to a farm near Caulfield, South Dakota. He would continue to help his family maintain the land, instead of going to school. Wilson’s parents and younger siblings moved into town after Wilson bought the farmland from them in 1915. Farming became a large portion of his life and kept him busy.
Others who knew Wilson will always remember him for his great sense of humor and enjoyment of life. He could always make the worst of times seem like they were the best.
His parents, Edward and Regina, his two sisters, Anna and Betty, and his two brothers, Jack and Ralph, survive him. They are currently residents of Caulfield.
Wilson was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents.
If you wish to send flowers or other types of memorials, it would be greatly appreciated if you could send them to the Lutheran Church.
