“Down The Road”

Places have different meanings to every different person. It’s an amazing thing when you have your own place that you know better then any other place in the world. This place you have can be shared with another person, a group of people, or just you yourself. This place of mine is a house that has been very dear to me, my best friends house, "The House Down the Road."

The place that I call mine dates way back to when I was a little child. It was where I met my first friend that I could call my best friend. The field in the neighborhood, the yards that we called our own.  It’s a place where the true me came pouring out in every direction. This house had many stories that meant a lot to many people, but none as much as me. All the things we did, all the memories that would be shared for a lifetime to come.

The days at school that couldn’t wait to be turn to night when we could become alive again with the thoughts of play .In this place we turned normal games into games that we would play over and over again. My world was changed forever when I first went to the house down the road. This place shaped what I would become forever. This place showed me the true meaning of friendship, and what it meant to have a second family,  people who knew you as well as your own family.

That horrifying alarm clock set by the one who cooks the breakfast, and the fighting back to go to sleep for we were tired from the lack of sleep the night before. Often, during the summer days we spent our time  staying up late and sleep till the late afternoon, then get up and just sit around and think of stuff to do again.

    Soccer and football in the yard all the time was a great way to shape what I am today. I play many sports, and I began to first understand these sports in the place down the road. This was my second home where I first learned the fruits of life. We got in trouble many times here, and we also prospered and had many good times here.

    Lately this place has been dead. A big part of this place is missing to me. It is gone and won’t be returned in this lifetime. This place is no longer the same, now I have to share it with new people and some old pals that I am close to. This place down the road that will always forever be in my heart, now can only be relived in my memories and thoughts. I love this place and it will always have the biggest influence on my life forever.
