Connie Briscoe
came from a very loving family who were close and very supportive to each other.
When she was born she came out with a natural hearing loss, which was passed on
to her from her fathers side. When she was in school she had moderate problems
and she was still able to attend public schools and even college. When she got
to her mid-twenties her hearing loss got worse and she was forced to get a
hearing aid. She says, “She never lets her hearing difficulties get in the way
of the things she wants to do.” “She just adapts and goes on.”
Ever since she has been a kid she has had a way with words. When she was
in her twenties she began to write a couple of novels, but they were not
completed because she didn’t have enough life experience to create a
conclusion. She put these novels of hers off and went after her career traveling
the world, photography, and a short marriage. Although it appeared that writing
would not be a part of her life anymore, her need to write stuck with her. Her
career as an editor began to progress and she decided to try her writing career
again. In the middle of her 2nd attempt at writing she produced Sisters
and Lovers, which sold over 600,000 copies. This novel appeared on
bestsellers lists all over the nation.
Currently, Connie and her husband share a house in Maryland with great
views, which is a perfect setting for her latest novel, P.G. Country. She
is a very gifted writer who loves doing what she is doing, I’m sure that we
will see many new and exciting novels from Connie Briscoe.
