You can find African modern art all over the place. They take so much pride in their cultures and beliefs from their ancestors. In art, they can express themselves in ways that their past ancestors could only dream of doing. They believe that a nation without a past is a lost nation, and a people without a past is without a soul. A peoples heritage provides them with their past, to keep alive their art and culture, they must understand the different forms of art their region used. The museums are a great tribute to the cultures of past lives. Many old battle sites and monumental buildings are being restored in Central Africa, and are being converted to museums of great value. They think it is important to understand past battles and war times, and preserving places of importance.

Often in African art, the true meaning of what once was, is brought out in such ways that are both heart warming and beautiful. It is a big deal for those who are concerned with the advancements of African art and culture. Many things are true and go hand in hand with art, like culture, art changes with the times. Their arts of today will reflect African image of tomorrow.

The Africans adapted the images of art from European colonists. The Africans adopted it through the English teaching by the British. This is where the Africans first learned the true meaning of art. Its been an on going process ever since, and it has been a beneficial process to the African way of life.
