Arts in the African Culture
In the African culture the arts are very much alive. Dancing and singing are very much a part of the African way of life. Traditional African music and dance is often performed on important occasions in the African life. Many African people go through the "coming of age" stages in life. There are many different things they do in the arts; they sculpt sculptures, and perform many special skills for the individuals.
The African drum is a very influential part of the African culture. You are able to recognize the sound of the African drum anywhere you go. Many African cultures that still live in there tribes perform rituals where Africans dance and sing together.
Africans are more outgoing with their spiritual lives and are not afraid to get up and sing. Some of the official ceremonies these dances are performed at are weddings, funerals, and ancestral offerings. When the crops are harvested many tribes have harvest celebrations where the arts are clearly shown. In southern Africa many Rock paintings are a very well know art there. Also in northern Africa engravings on stone utensils and sculpture is a very distinct part of that culture. The Africans share their talents of sculpting and drawing in their lives.
