Obituary
Our dear daughter Iva Goldie Kleinsasser was born July 31st, 1921 on the farm near Freeman, SD. She started school at the age of five years and always made her grades with ease, being the youngest one in her class. She passed the eighth grade at the age of 12 years. She entered Freeman Junior College at the age of 13 years; where she was a student until her death. She was a senior and looking forward with great joy when she could graduate from the four year academy course, but our Dear Lord saw it fit to call her home so unexpected before this day could come. She was well liked by all her school friends and many others.
In the last few weeks she did many kind deeds in our home, and had a longing to serve others by inviting them to our home. Her favorite song was,
“I Will Sing the Wondrous Story” No. 163 in Ev. Lieder Book. Now in her sickness last Saturday she called her little sister Kathryn to her bedside and told her to sing the song to her.Monday morning Iva showed a little pimple to her mother on her neck, saying it hurts quite bad, but went on to school. Wednesday she went to school also, but when she came home she went to bed right away, feeling tired and weak. We started with all home remedies to bring the boil to a point where it could be opened, but it never came there, instead of localizing, it’s poison rapidly entered her system, thereby producing a very serious illness.
Saturday as no improvement was shown; we decided to call the doctor. Dr. M. Hofer was called telling us at once that it was a very serious case. All that he could do was done for her, and many prayers were sent to the throne of God for her recovery, but God in his all knowing plan wanted her there, where there is no more pain, sorrow or troubles.
We are indeed glad that Iva had the privilege of attending a Christian school where the Word of God is brought to them daily. Iva reached the age of 16 years, 7 months and 21 days.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our many friends for all the kind deeds and words of sympathy. For the beautiful floral offering, and for all the songs, prayers, and cards of sympathy, and help you gave us during the brief sickness and death of our beloved daughter Iva.
