Resident “Inherited” Child
Newspaper Interview done by Lindsay
When I interviewed Taylor after she arrived here in Tuscon, I found that she had much to say.
“My plan was to live in the first town that my car broke down in.” She stated with a laugh, “I didn’t except that it would be in Cherokee country.”
After Greer got her car fixed, she stopped for lunch in a run-down dinner. After she was done and went to leave, an Indian squaw approached her. This elderly lady set down a child on Taylor’s car seat.
“I was shocked and frightened when I saw that child there. I had absolutely no idea what to do with it. I couldn’t even tell if it was alive!”
Greer has been taking care of this child, whom she named Turtle, for quite some time now. It’s great that she has chosen to live here in Tucson, as she makes an interesting addition to the community.
