"Water Park Nightmare"
By: Alli
One of the funniest things happened to me this summer while I was on a wild vacation. My family, my friend Nicole, and I went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nicole and I woke up one morning and didn’t feel like going to the beach or the usual pools where we had been going the last three or four days. So we decided to go to a water park that looked pretty fun. We were really excited!
When we got to the water park, we went on the usual lazy river. I could feel the hot sun beating on me as sweat trickled down my face. I saw a big slide that was a tube, and it was dark and black. It was one of those slides that go straight down.
"Come on, Alli, let’s go!" yelled Nicole.
"No thanks," I said as I was watching people come out of the bottom of the dark slide. Instead, I insisted on going down a calm slide. After we went down that, we got something to eat.
"Are you sure you don’t want to go down that slide?" my mom asked as we were sitting at the table.
"All right" I said. I figured I might as well go on it since it was the only slide I hadn’t been on.
We got in line, and soon my turn was up. As I was going down, it was totally dark and I couldn’t see anything. When I came out at the bottom, I was relieved I’d made it and jumped up.
"I did it!" I yelled as I jumped up from the slide. There was my mom and Nicole waiting for me. There was also a cute lifeguard there, making sure everyone got out okay. I looked down, and my top was all the way flipped up and tangled up all the way up by my neck. I tried untangling it, but I couldn’t! Finally, I turned around and got it untangled. I turned back around, and the lifeguard, Nicole, and my mom were still laughing! I was so embarrassed! I also had the WORST wedgy! I thought I was going to die! I just walked away with my face pure red!
About five minutes later, my mom and Nicole caught up with me. They were still cracking up.
"I want to go home right now!" I yelled, as I
was kind of giggling between words. They agreed, so we left. The whole way home
they were making fun of me. It’s actually kind of funny now when I think about
it. I learned this vacation to ALWAYS wear a one piece while going to a water
park.
