Recently I have had the gift to interview a few American soldiers

One I particularly found interesting was an interview with a man named "Peewee".

Reporter: What is your name?

Peewee: Everyone calls me Peewee.

Reporter: It looks like you've seen some action here in Vietnam. Were you shot.

Peewee: Yeah I've seen some action.  I took out a hole V. C. platoon by myself.  I did get shot, but that was only because the sneaky little b@$#%&#@ found me when I was hiding.

Reporter: Wow, I whole platoon.  That is amazing.  That must have been very scary for you behind enemy lines and outnumbered.

Peewee: We were more than behind enemy lines.  We were even in the enemy's spider hole.  It was in the side of the hill, and no one could see it so we went inside out of sight.

Reporter: So you were hiding.

Peewee: Heck no.  My friend Perry, he was with me, he was afraid.  He thought that we were going in there to hide, but I hade a better idea.  We waited there in the dark untill the cong came back, then we jumped the kid and killed him.

Reporter: You killed a kid?!?

Peewee: No,  no I mean a VC killing machine.  Did you know that they train their soldiers to eat the body's of their enemy?

Reporter: I'm not quite sure if that is more interesting or disgusting.  So you were in the cong's hole, waiting for his return surrounded by the enemy and you killed the evil maniac that had returned to his killing post.

Peewee: That's right.  We had to get out of there real fast too, so that the rest of the cong's wouldn't find us.

Reporter: So then you ran away?

Peewee: nothing of the sort, we just had to hurry up and save our buddy that was pinned down back at the landing zone.

Reporter: So even after destroying an entire VC platoon, and vacating an enemy spider hole you returned to the landing zone to save your comrade in need?

Peewee: That's right. Perry and I surprised the VC that were hiding in the bushes and gave away their position to the helicopter so that they could lend support as well.  It was a very well executed plan.

Reporter: That truly is remarkable.  It is amazing to hear such an incredible true to life story.  You really have earned your trip home. I hope you enjoy yourself back in the real world.

Peewee: I know that I will.
