The Permian Panthers, in there 1988 season, make the magic on the field of Ratliff Stadium. A good aspect that H. G. Bissinger provided was just not the positions that they play but the actual life of the players. This made the reader relate to the book.

Odessa, Texas was explained well by Bissinger and really gave you a vivid picture on how the town was formed and how the people’s life styles surrounded the town. Bissinger explained the history of Odessa and the state of Texas.
