Dear Diary, January
I just moved in with Lou Ann. I think I will really enjoy living with her. We both have a lot in common, and we even think the same! Plus she lives right across the park from Mattie’s. I could not have wished for better.
Dear Diary, Early February
I was right. I love living at Lou Ann’s house. She is a wonderful friend, always willing to listen. I was kind of mad though when I came home from work and Lou Ann was reading baby names to Turtle. Her name is Turtle. She doesn’t need a new name.
Then she goes and says Turtle has no personality. Well Turtle may not have a lot of personality, but what she does have is a whole lot nicer than Lou Ann! Oh, I don’t really mean that. I am just still in a bad mood and am taking it out on Lou Ann. Maybe I will be in a better mood once I get some rest.
Dear Diary, Mid February
I don’t like how we’re acting like a family. We’re not a family. I come home after a hard day’s work, and Lou Ann is making supper and taking care of the kids. We talked for a long time and worked some things out. It was good for both of us. I am so glad I have Lou Ann and Mattie and Turtle and Mama. Even though I don’t have many people, the people that I do have are the greatest.
