The movie October Sky is a adventurous movie about four boys who have to over come their usual way of thinking and look farther than any one has ever looked. Homer and the boys have a lot of different trials to overcome. these are just a few of them.

The biggest obstacle that Homer over comes is getting his dad to believe in him. He is in disagreement with Homer’s ideas of building rockets. he thinks they are a little immature for Homer’s age. Besides, all of the kids are supposed to become miners in the town.

At the fair in Indianapolis someone steals his rocket parts, but luckily there was a phone, so he called home and had one of the engineers make another one and mail it. No one believed that something this big could come out of the town. that is why no one believed him. Some of Homer’s friends didn’t even believe in him.

Homer has to over come his fears of peer pressure when he goes to talk to the nerd in school. Homer wants to learn more about rockets so that is why he talks to him.

After awhile of flying their rockets, they were accused of starting a fire in the woods. The cops came to the school and arrested them for starting the fire. Then Homer mathematically found out that the rocket wasn’t theirs.
