Poster Essay

"We say glibly that in the United States of America all men are free and equal, but do we treat them as if they were? . . . There is religious and racial prejudice everywhere in the land, and if there is a greater obstacle anywhere to the attainment of the teamwork we must have, no one knows what it is."

Poster United We Win    This poster that I found showed a white man and a black man working together to build a fighter plane. The colors in this poster were blacks, grays, red white and blue.  The American flag and the men in the poster represented these colors.  There are a couple symbols in this poster, but the most important in my opinion is the American flag. It stands out so boldly in the background.  It was the only object in this poster that had color; the rest was in black and white.

The title of this poster is " United We Win."  I think that this is a very good title for this poster, because if we never came together as one we wouldn't be able to fight for our rights.  This poster was more compelling than the rest I had looked at because of the meaning I found in the poster.  This poster was intended for everyone including young men of different races.  The poster was dramatic and memorable at the same time as well as clear to understand.

This poster is effective in ways as different races coming together and fighting for freedom.  It also is effective in the way they  made the poster and made the flag stand out.  This helps show that once we realize that we need to fight for one thing like freedom for us or others, we start to come together. No matter what obstacles we have to over come.  We came together sooner or later.
