Fairy Tale
Once upon a time there was a brave medieval knight named Koric. He was a veteran of countless wars and a skilled master of his large sword; however, he had one major flaw, he did not know how to ride a horse.
He had tried countless times to learn to ride a horse on his own, but all that resulted was his getting a scabbed knee and being very sad. Koric had figured that now it was time to seek professional help.
He ran down town and found a shop called Horse "Accessories and Stuff" so he checked it out. In the shop was useless stuff as far as the eye could see. But Koric decided to look around anyway.
In some odd turn of events, he found exactly what he needed, Horse Training Wheels! He ran home to try them out, but then he remembered something. He didn’t have a horse.
Because Koric had no job, he had no money to buy a horse, so he decided to venture into the wilderness in search of a noble steed.
Koric walked for days, without food or water. He was forced to live off of the fruit of the land, monkeys. He devoured so many monkeys; it was as if they were candy.
One day, as Koric was setting a trap for some monkeys, he caught something shiny out of the corner of his eye. It was an amulet, and written on the amulet was: "A wish is granted to whoever provideth me a chain."
He scratched his head for a second, and then decided to give it a shot. He pulled a chain off of his unfinished monkey trap and looped it through the amulet. Nothing happened. "Bah, I knew it," said Koric, and he threw it hard against a tree.
Suddenly there was a massive explosion and the Koric was flung back against his monkey trap, which was in enough working order to clamp down on his leg.
He heard a huge roar from the smoke ahead. Unable to reach the release on the trap, he drew his sword and struck it with all of his might. Hardly anything happened to the trap from the blow. He was chained to a tree with not much more than four feet of reach.
Suddenly a huge figured emerged from the smoke to reveal a large rock creature. On top of its head was a cage containing what appeared to be nothing more than a really bright light?
Forced to fight handicapped, Koric chose to use the trap to his advantage. The creature charged with a huge axe in hand. The knight ducked out of the way and the creature struck its axe deep into the tree. Taking advantage of the situation, Koric ran one quick lap around the large tree causing the creature’s legs to be pinned. The creature, having no place left to go, fell backwards crashing into a huge bundle of rock, the cage rolling gently to the side.
The fall of the creature broke the chain holding Koric, and he ran to check out the illuminating cage.
As he got close, the light began talking to him in a voice that seemed to echo endlessly.
It said," For freeing me of my moving prison, I grant you one wish. Chose your wish wisely Brave Knight."
Koric screamed without hesitation," I want the best horse in the world."
The tiny light grew huge and then suddenly exploded, blinding Koric. Then the light faded till it was completely gone, and in front of the knight stood the world’s best horse, or so he thought.
Koric reached into his backpack and pulled out the horse training wheels. Unfortunately from all of the battling he had been through, all that was left of them was crumpled metal. In frustration he threw the training wheels aimlessly. They smacked his horse right across the side of the head causing a severe flesh wound.
In a raging frenzy the horse charged Koric. The knight ran and ran. The chase lasted for nearly half an hour. His helmet had shut on his head during a blind dash, causing him to veer left in a blind panic and slide right down a cliff, followed by the horse, onto jagged rocks near the edge of a lake. Koric’s armor would have barely saved him from death if the lake hadn’t picked him up with a strong wave and carried him straight into its center.
Dazed and confused, and still relatively blinded with his helmet down, he learned the hard way that you cannot swim with heavy armor.
