The Year I was born

On the morning of September 8th, 1986, at 7:01 AM, I, James, was born, weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces and sporting brown eyes and a baldhead.

At the time my mother, Kathy, was working at Dale Electronics and my father, Leonard, was working at Mt. Marty College. They had just recently moved into a new house before I was born, the house we live in to this day.

We had one cat, which my parents had for a couple of years before I was born. Her name was Spooky. I had my own room and was spoiled with countless baby toys from parents and relatives.

The year I was born was a relatively big year for movies. Movies such as Top Gun, Crocodile Dundee, Platoon, and Part Two of the Karate Kid were released during the year, and all grossed well over $58 million.

The president at the time was Ronald Reagan. The major Challenger Space Shuttle explosion happened that year, killing seven people. The Bears won the Super Bowl, and Argentina won the World Cup.

My year of birth was very eventful, and a very memorable one to relatives. In four years I would become an older brother, and 12 years later brings us to where I am today.
