This class is different from other English classes because it is all on computer. We also don’t have to do anything in notebooks which is really cool. So I am going to like this class more than other classes because I like using computers and I don’t like writing in notebooks. Other English classes have correct sentences out of a book and in this class you don’t have to. Some English classes have you reading book after book after book. In this class you only have to read a few books so that is another good thing about this class.

In Sophomore Composition, I have learned how to build a web page, and add many things to it. Since it is all on computer, I need to understand how a computer works. I learned how to hyperlink different websites to my web page. I also learned how to add different clip arts from the internet to my web page.

My favorite thing about my web page is that it has some of my favorite bands on it. My 3 favorite bands that are on it are the Offspring, Mudvayne, and Seether. I also have other stuff on it that I like. Dumb and Dumber is my favorite movie so I have it on my web page. I have a piece of pizza on their because pizza is my favorite food. I like playing PS2, so I have a picture of it. I play guitar, so I have a picture of a guy playing guitar. The Angry Beavers is the best cartoon/TV show ever, so that is why I have a picture of Norb and Dagett. Soccer is one of my favorite sports, so I have a picture of a guy playing soccer.

If an outsider visited my website I would hope that he would think about what kind of a person I am. I would hope that he would look at my web page and go inside of it to learn about the stuff I like. There is a lot of interesting stuff in my web page. So hopefully when they see the beginning of my web page and go inside of it to learn more about me.

I feel more confident about my skills for computers because I have learned how to make a web page and add stuff to it. I didn't know how to make a web page before this class. I have also written many papers. I think my writing has improved from the first day I was in this class. Writing papers has become easier now that I know the right ways to write.

This class has been pretty easy this 3rd nine weeks. It was not very difficult doing the assignments on computer. The assignments have been fairly short and pretty easy to do. We have to read a book with a partner and make a character web page. We had to also make our own web page. It was pretty easy even though I had never made a web page before. We could put stuff that we liked on it as long as we put our assignments on the web page. The assignments that we had to put on our web page were an October Sky essay, a narrative essay, a descriptive essay, a fairy tale related to myself, a cause and effect essay, and a "where I'm from poem". That's what we did this first quarter.

4/25/03

In this class lately, we have been writing a research paper. We have looked for sources for our topics and then we wrote down notes from the sources we got. We have to come up with as much information on 15 questions, that we wrote before starting the research, as we can. Then with those notes we will write the research paper. We have quite a bit of time to get this research paper done. It will count as a lot of points for our final grade this quarter.

This year in Sophomore Composition, I learned how to make a web page, write good essays and papers, and how to take notes for my research paper. We wrote lots of papers and essays, read short stories and a book with a partner and made a website dealing with that book, and we also wrote a research paper that needed to be 1,000 words long minimum. This class was actually quite enjoyable because we could work at our own pace in order to get our papers and essays done. We weren't rushed and we never had any homework to do. It was all in class which I liked a lot. We also didn't have to write out our papers and essays on pieces of paper; they were all done on computer, which is easier than writing them on paper. I am proud of the website I have made and I think it reflects the stuff that I like and the things that interest me.
