Things that happened the year I was born

I was born December 5, 1986 and there are many things  that happened that I never knew about, such as when Houston Astor Jim Deshaies strikes out 1^st eight Dodgers in a game, and Congress selected the Rose as the national flower.

Then the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded on January 28, 1986. Chenobyl-ussa-nuclear disaster was in April. Many of the most interesting events in history happened the year I was born, like the Fox Network stared in America and the return of Haley’s Comet. The Statue of Liberty got a face lift on her 100^th birthday. It was also the first celebration of Martin Luther King Day. 1986 was the year when a supermodel became the first person to die from AIDS. Some of the biggest movies at the 1986 box office were: ET, Die Hard, Ghosts Busters, Gremlins, and Stand by Me; some of the big TV shows were the Cosby Show, Murder She Wrote, 60 Minutes and Cheers. Video games were widely popular back then too, like missile command and Pacman. The energizer bunny was first introduced in 1986 as well.

But the best thing that happened in the year 1986 was my birth.
