Journal-
Wow it sure is great to be writin’ to ya! I’ve had a helluva past few days. Oh man, along my way there sure have been a bunch of phonies for chrissake.
First I failed Pency…I know I know this is the fourth school that I’ve been to for chrissake! But it was full of so many phonies! You wouldn’t believe! Then the phony Stradlater hit me in the nose and I decided to leave for home early. I walked all the way to the train station where this lady came and say by me. She told me her son went to Pency, Ernest Morrow (the biggest phony if I ever saw one!)
When I got off the Penn train I contemplated on callin’ someone but decided not to and got a cab. Man that driver was the biggest dam phony if I ever met one. He brought me to the Edmont Hotel where they gave me a real crumby of a room. After being bored in my room I went down to the Lavender Room where I heard this real crappy band playin’. At the bar the bartender refused to sell me a drink! He insisted on my I.D. So I danced with this blonde that was a helluva dancer.
Then I caught a cab to go to Ernie’s. During the ride the driver, Horwitz, was being a real jerk! We got into this really big argument about ducks and fish. When I got into Ernie’s I was surrounded by jerks. It just killed me! Then out of nowhere I ran into D.B.’s old girlfriend Lillian. She tried to talk to me but I decided I’d go.
I walked the whole forty-one blocks back to the hotel and when I got there I had an encounter with a man in an elevator. He told me he’d send a woman to my room tonight. Her name was Sunny. When she got there I didn’t feel right with her. I just wanted to talk. But she didn’t wanna stay to bad so she left an’ her pimp old Maurice came up to get more money for her bein’ there! I told her I had given her the right amount but they argued and I got punched in the stomache.
The next day I called Sally Hayes out for a date. We went to see The Lunts an’ she ran into one of her ole buddies, he sure was a phony if I ever saw one! Before I went on the date I sat next to these two nuns in the station café. (The sure were nice I wish I could see them again.)
Later that night I called up ole Luce to go to the bar. He got there a little late an’ seemed a little antsy to leave. He was getting pretty frustrated and we had a little fallin’ out and he left. I stayed and got really drunk at the bar and finally left and stayed in the park for awhile ‘till I decided to go home and see Phoebe. I ended up stayin’ the night at Mr. Antolini’s place until he tried to get funny with me!
The next day I went to Phoebe’s school to go and talk to her and we spent the whole day at the carnival. I didn’t really do that much while I was gone but I will fill you in when other things happen.
