Dear Auntie-
I recently met Piggy on the island that we crashed and were stranded on. The experiences there were some that I wish I would've never had to endure.
Jack and his hunters were supposed to be watching our rescue fire but decided to go hunting for food instead. As a result, the fire spread over part of the island, killing one of the little boys. By this, we've shown that some people really don't care if we're ever rescued. There's was also some talk of a beast that scared everyone. Then, as a boy named Simon walked out of the forest, he was attacked and killed out of fear.
The leader of the hunters, Jack, proved to be restless and split away from the rest of the group with his own tribe of hunters, When Piggy and I went to try to get his glasses back and to bring the two groups together, they refused. It was obvious that they had become savages. In all the ruckus, a boy named Roger rolled a large boulder at Piggy and I'm sorry to say that he fell off the cliff from the blow. Piggy was a good kid and very intelligent. It was a very saddening experience to witness his death.
The group then came after me. I ran all around trying to escape, but we were on an island, so I lost hope quickly. Finally, I reached the beach and to our pleasant surprise, my pursuing party and I found a miracle waiting on the beach. A ship had docked and a naval officer waited on the white sand.
I'm very sorry you had to hear this from me.
Piggy's friend,
Ralph
