There are many people that are important in my life. There are many people I would have chosen to tell you about, but I can only have one. I have chosen my oldest sister Janelle.

At the age of 20, Janelle is four years older than I am. She goes to school at SDSU, in Brookings. She is majoring in costume design and in theater. She is one of the head costume designers in the department. Janelle has been in many plays in Brookings. She also has done many plays in Yankton for school and for the Lewis and Clark Theater. In the summer time she stays in Brookings and does PRT. This is a group of people that does theater in Madison. They do five plays in two or three months. It is really fun when I go up there to watch the plays. The people look at us and see that she and I look exactly alike. Many people cannot tell us apart. They call us by each other’s names.

There are many times that people have gotten Janelle and me mixed up. Even my relatives get us mixed up, and they have known us forever. Even my parents get us mixed up. Many people like my friends think that we sound alike and look alike. The most memorable time is this year at Christmas. We have some aunts and uncles that only come once a year and don’t see us very much. One day we were over at my grandparent’s house. I was wearing a shirt that she would wear, and she was wearing a shirt that I would usually wear. When we got there, I walked in and right way my uncle said, “Hi Janelle.” I told him that I was Michelle. Then Janelle walked in and one of my other uncles said, “Hi Michelle” and she told them that it was Janelle. The whole day people got us mixed up. It was great because they are my family, and they should know who we are.

My sister is a great person. She has always helped me do things when I needed her. She still sometimes gets mad at me for taking things from her, but what sisters don’t take things from each other? Also, since she has been in college, I haven’t seen her very much. Sometimes I wish I could just go and visit her. I still talk to her a lot, but it just isn’t the same. My mom says to me that she is glad that I look exactly like her because I make her think of Janelle.

Janelle would have to be my favorite sister of the three that I have. She is there for me when I need her. She always has time for me to talk to her. I don’t know what I would do with out her. I hope I never have to be without her.
