I chose the Cask
of Amontillado,
now I realize that I am not enough of an established reader/writer to criticize
Edgar Allen Poe,
but
because this is assigned, I
may as well start.
I think that the narrator was out for revenge, mainly because the opening
paragraph states that Fortunato had done great harm or a great deal of things to
our narrator. I also like the thought of giving your readers just about full
imagination to the main character. What I mean with that statement is you can
make up the personality of the character, the nationality, and the appearance,
but in respect to
that statement I think you should at least give a gender or a name to the
character.
I also
think that you were very clever in hiding the body and making sure that there
were no witnesses; I
admire that.
