First Day of High School
It is late August, and my eighth
grade summer is
almost over. I have had a great summer, but my middle school days are
over and I am about to enter a whole new world. High school is
just around the corner, and I do
not know what I am
in for. Football has just started,
and I am starting to realize that my summer days are just about over. I am feeling frustrated and sad that school is going to
start.
It
is this night before the first day of school, and I am lying in bed thinking to
myself that this is going to be a long year. As I am setting my alarm clock for
7:00 a.m.,
I am dreading the loud noise of it waking me up in the morning.
I wake up during the night about five times because I am restless and
worried about school.
My
alarm clock goes off, and I slowly get out of bed. I timidly get ready for my
first day of school. I go out to my driveway and start my green 1995 Plymouth
Acclaim with a dented front fender. I run back to my house and snatch my book
bag that I forgot on the kitchen counter. I
drive to school worrying about where I am going to park and if I will make it
through the day without getting lost. I
pull into the parking lot and little by little inch my way into a parking spot.
The rest of day
actually goes
very well. I find
all my classes easily and never get lost. I am
very nervous at first, but my day turns out to be fun and exciting.
