My First Year

My parents were very excited about having a baby. My mom thought I was going to be a baby boy and my dad thought I was going to be a baby girl. Little did they know the problems I was going to be even before I arrived.

My mom was so excited about me coming into the world that she tried to have me three months early, but not by her choice. This meant my mom would have to take a bunch of pills every four hours, and she would have to stay home from work for three months. She had to do that for three months straight around the clock non-stop.

After those three months were up, she was ready to have me. I was only three weeks early. I arrived on January 1st, 1987. I was a bouncing baby girl! I was a New Years Baby! When I was born I was dark complicated, weighed 6pds 14oz. And they named me Stephanie Paige. There were three New Years babies born on that day, and I was the only girl and the second one born.

I was a very good baby for the first year. I was bouncy and very energetic. I also sucked my thumb ,and when my diaper was full, I would stick my thumb in my mouth and go "gully gully," and the faster I said that the madder I got. So they would know when to change my diaper and feed me.

New Years Day is something very big, it’s were everyone celebrates a new year when it turns 12:00am. In New York City they have a ball come down, and when it hits the bottom it is New Years. That’s really what New Years Day is all about!!
