New
Orleans

The place that I admire and like to visit is the big easy, New Orleans.
It is a big city, and many things to do. I went to New Orleans this whole last
summer; I stayed down there until I started my sophomore year. Some reasons for
me liking it so much is because you have a lot of things to do, and you never
really get board. It is a big tourist attraction for say is Marti Gras, Bourbon
Street, Superdome, River walk, and the French Quarter.
One of the tourist attractions in New Orleans is Bourbon Street. It is
the most
famous and popular tourist attraction in New Orleans. It makes you feel no
different from anyone else, because people aren’t afraid to dress wacky or do
weird things. Bourbon street is open twenty-four hours a day, it is a party
street from early in the morning to late at night, even till the next morning.
This street is also known as one of the most haunted streets of New Orleans.
In 1722 the street was named after The Bourbons, and the city was the new
French capital in the new world, Biloxi was no longer the capital.
The street's name came from one of Europe's most enduring and powerful
ruling families, and to honor Louis XIV. Millions
of visitors pour through Bourbon Street annually. It is the biggest and most
successful retailing and entertainment area in the world.
The river walk is a really interesting place to go also, because there
were around 120 stores and restaurants. There were about 3-4 levels, and on each
there were gift shops, clothing stores, toy stores, and just other miscellaneous
shops throughout the mall. On the top level you could walk outside from the food
court, and see the pretty view of city and the Mississippi river. In the food
court they had various selections of foods from pizza to oysters. The food
choice is tremendous in New Orleans.
The French Quarter is a very popular tourist attraction, it may seem like
a shopping heaven to tourists. There are flea markets, where people go to sell
their things, such as Marti Gras beads, hats, Cajun sauces, purses, and jewelry.
You can almost find anything in flea markets, some things may be cheap and some
may be expensive. You can usually always be guaranteed that you will find
something you like. You can find many Cafés if you like coffee or cappuccinos,
or you can find many bars if you feel like having a few drinks. There are also
so many museums you can visit from wax to voodoo. After all of the site seeing
and entertainment you need a place to rest. There are so many hotels you can
choose from like five star hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton and Melrose Hotels or
you could go for something simple like Best Western French Quarter or Empress
Hotel. New Orleans is a great place to be, you will always have to too little
time and so much to do.
