The pharmacist

                After the loss of my wife due to an illness, I continued on with my life taking care of Jerry and working for a chain of drug stores as a pharmacist. Working many different shifts including mostly night shifts, I rarely get to spend time with Jerry, and when I finally got the chance to, I was usually sleeping to rest up for my next big shift.

                I really do enjoy spending time with Jerry, he's such a good kid and he seems to get along with the other kids so well. I've yet to hear him complain about rotten bullies or snobs, he really seems to like it here. I wish I had more to talk with him about but my life really isn't all that interesting since my wife died in the spring.

"A drug store's pretty much the same all the time Jerry. The prescriptions come in and we fill them--and that's about it."
