Fairy Tale

In a time when kings ruled and dragons roamed, there was a common couple that lived in the court of Kharmalena Castle. They were not wealthy, but they were not poor. Just like most of the other court inhabitants they were average.

Their hut was made of several thick logs of wood with mud and straw serving as installation. The roof was made of thick bundles of straw and weed, tied to the supporting logs with braided hemp weed. The floor did not exist, it was only packed dirt.

Inside was a makeshift table with two unsteady chairs and in the far right corner was a bed made of a large piece of linen filled with fresh straw.

They were a humble couple, still in deep love after their fifth year of marriage, but one night all of that would change as the events to come would grab the reigns and steer them onto a different path.

All was not well in the world of the heavenly gods. Moralee, the god of war, sensed a terrible future. The things he saw were not imaginable by any mortal. An intense war was bubbling and forming beneath the earth’s crust. The prisoners of hell were planning to escape and reign forever on the surface of the mostly unknown globe. Of course the gods would not have this. Moralee confronted Astronicus , god of the stars and all other gods. " there is a fearful future ahead for the mortals on earth."

"I have seen this coming for quite some time, we’ve almost another 20 years to prepare for it. We will not have those ignorant fools trespassing on our land." Replied Astronicus with a look of both fear and hatred.

"Do you think we should send them reinforcements sir?" said Moralee suggestively.

"As scary as the threat may be, we cannot risk letting them enter the heavens. We do not know what kind of tricks Lucifer has for them."

"Then what shall we do?"

"I’ve sent a golden fairy to the mortal world, once there she will implant an egg in the womb of a caring family that will take care of the child until he is ready . This child will not be like a mortal. This egg is that of Chapiona, the goddess of strength and good fortune. Though a godly egg, the boy will not be immortal, therefore we will send Pegasus to guide him and watch over his shoulder. Also for a companion and mentor on his quests, Raiden, the god of lightening, a very mature boy for his young age. They will not be put together by us though, fate will bring them together. As the sons of Championa the two will venture together until evil is wiped off the earth."

"I’ll be on sharp surveillance as I’m sure you’ll be."

Back in the couple’s hut on earth Marcus and Alexia were sleeping without a care on their minds.

Above the hut the golden fairy hovered waiting toimplant the egg into Alexia. Gazing from a window high in the castle’s tower was King Kharmalena, watching very closely at the glowing ball above the hut. This worried the king as he had never seen anything so supernatural. Then in a flash the ball flew into the window of the home. The king decided he would have thefamily checked out immediately in the morning.

That next morning the king had three of his guards enter the couple’s home and drug them to the king’s quarters on the top floor of the castle. Upon their entering the room the king was brought to his feet . he walked up to Marcus to look him in the eye. "remove all of your clothing, both of you."

"What is the meaning of such a preposterous intrusion?" shouted Marcus unaware of the happenings that took place that night. Alexia, also confused, began to remove her clothes to prevent any trouble with the royalty, "just do it Marcus we’ve nothing to hide."

Marcus agreed with his wife and did so.

"Ah the mark of Satan! You do not belong to this town or this church… You… You are a demon!" screamed the king not knowing the intention of the gods, also not realizing that it was a mere scar in the shape of an upside down pitchfork and nothing more.

"Please sir," begged Alexia, " do not banish us, we could never be capable of evil or harm to anyone or anything."

"Nonsense, you are to be gone at once, if your faces are seen in these parts again we will have your heads!"

Alexia began to weep and Marcus filled with anger. Marcus was a large man, much larger than the seemingly helpless king. When he stepped forward toward the king to argue his point, the king snapped his fingers and in a second the guards were on them.
