Art Analysis

            Africa has many traditions in their arts, music, and different cultural ways.  Their arts have been ways for them to transmit their culture from generation to another.  They use many different ways to show their different types of arts.

            One form of their art is the folktales they tell each other.  Their stories tell cultural roots of the African communities.  The stories they told were more like lessons of survival, communication, family values, religion, and how to get along with white folks. 

            Their art is shown in many different ways that they do.  They do basket weaving, masks, paintings, and pottery.  African arts have meanings to them and are usually vastly decorated.  Their art that they make sometimes relates to some religion or in different spiritual ways.

            Most commonly known form of African art is their mask making.  They use their mask making for many different reasons.  They use them for the religion or spiritual ways.  They use these masks to show human nature and animal images too.  They sometimes believe that the masks they make have magical powers, and those powers are transferred to the wearer.

            Art is used in many different ways for the African culture.  The art is used for the culture and his helped passed on by other ways.
