October 7th  

" Remember it is an art that is performed on a four count rhythm between ten and two o'clock" This is the way their father is teaching them to cast

" A small bet on the side just to make things interesting" This shows how Paul likes to bet and the way he likes to live his life

Some personall connections between my life and the events in the book, Paul and Jenny both are lazy and do things at their own pace. This is just like me im always going at my own pace and can be lazy. They also learned how to fish from their dad and my dad taught me how to fish.

October 8th" One of life's quite excitments is to stand somewhat apart from yourself and watch yourself softly"

              This is talking about the beauty of fly casting and how it can be to spend time by yourself

October 9th "I just sat their and forgot and forgot until what reminded was the river that went by and by and i who watched."

    This is a metaphor for how the river brings so much meaning and purpose to both Paul and his brothers life
