Descriptive Paragraph
By Brennan and Whitney
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was lying low to the cold, wet earth. The smell of sulfur was in the smoky air. My platoon and I were lying still, while the Iraqi’s attempted to peer their emerald eyes into the dark mist of night. We heard a low rumble thundering through the damp air. It was a U.S. Air Force bomber. We were very excited almost like the feeling of U.S. triumph coming over Baghdad. Five thousand pound bombs were quickly dancing through the air over the poor defenseless city. You could tell the bombs were searching for something. Saddam Hussein was their target and they were determined to find him. We all lay in silence as the crickets chirped around us unaware of what was coming. I saw the bombs hit and that’s the last I remembered of the final night of Operation Desert Storm.
