Prologue

This prologue is an introduction to our project about The War in Iraq in
the 1980’s-1990’s. This time was also known as Operation Desert Storm. We
started doing this project around the beginning of April. We were given many
different choices on topics that we could use for our project. We decided to use
The War in Iraq because of the war going on in Iraq as of right now. After we
decided which topic we were going to work on we looked for information on the
internet and decided who we could interview for this subject. Picking
this topic, we felt, was important because we wanted people to know about the
problems in Iraq then and now and how they are different.
During this Operation the United States tried to help run intruders out of
Kuwait. In the war we are fighting right now we have eliminated the Hussein
Regime and now we are trying to help establish a democratic government. This war
has turned out to become much more difficult than what we thought it would be. The key part of this war was when Operation Desert Storm began on August
7th, 1990 and its crucial settings of this event were in Saudi Arabia
and Kuwait. In our project we have four genres. We have given our genres a theme
of life of a person in the war. Also in this project we have included an
interview with someone alive during the time of this operation, an annotated
bibliography, and an historical overview. We hope you enjoy our project.
